Down in Silver City for another edition of Tour of the Gila. Kinda. After Georgia last week I spent a few days recovering (12 hrs/day sleep) then headed to Bisbee to get the legs opened up. Didn’t feel too solid in Bisbee, just going through the motions hoping that the legs would come around. Ended up a frustrating 5th place. Nice job to Ramsey to take out the GC win on the last day. After two Tucson days I headed to NM for an early tt yesterday. Had a bit of a bunk stomach while warming up and just didn’t feel too strong out on the road. Woke up this morning for the first road race and felt horrible. Think that I’ve got a pretty bad stomach bug, unfortunately no Mogollon climbing for me today. Just trying to keep food in my belly and recover. Lots or reading and some planning for the summer of races. I’ve got some time until my next big race up at Mt. Hood, from then it will be a solid 2 months of quality races. I’m hoping that I’ll be feeling good in a few days and will be able to commence with some solid rides to get ready for the summer block. Lots of chatting with Coach Lehman over at CTS to get the training program dialed in. Jim Lehman has been coaching me for 6 years now and we’ve got a great relationship, I’m looking forward to being able to shoot down to Colorado Springs from Boulder to meet up with him this summer.
