Knee issues.
// April 9th, 2006 // PZ training.
Some serious problems down in Tucson. Been having knee issues all week, thought that I was just having some tightness after pushing too hard in training but it appears that I’ve developed some persistent tendonitis. My IT band and Vastus Lateralis are both tight and are inflamed at the attachment points around the knee. I’ve taken it very easy this week with the goal of allowing the inflammation to go down. No big deal, my coach was planning a taper for me this week pre-Georgia for me anyways. Got some deep massage work and some DT acupuncture. Went out today for my first longish ride in 6 days and bam. Pain was back to the same point it was 6 days prior. Not icepick in the side of the knee pain but a solid 7 out of 10. I’ve got some electro stim going on it now to try to increase blood flow to the area but I’m afraid that I might be seriously screwed. Just hoping that the electro stim + physical therapy will have me good as new in a day or two. Blah.
